Other diphtheria - what does this mean

Other diphtheria is caused by a variety of bacteria, including corynebacterium ulcerans and corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. these bacteria produce toxins that can cause inflammation and infection in the throat and upper respiratory tract, leading to fever, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and a thick, gray-white coating on the back of the throat.

What happens during the disease - other diphtheria

Other diphtheria is a rare form of diphtheria caused by a toxin produced by corynebacterium ulcerans, which is closely related to the bacteria that cause classical diphtheria. the toxin produced by c. ulcerans causes local tissue damage and systemic symptoms, including fever, malaise, and myalgia. in severe cases, the toxin can cause severe respiratory problems, including difficulty breathing, hoarseness, and stridor. the infection is spread through contact with infected secretions, and can be treated with antibiotics.
