Trichomoniasis - what does this mean

Trichomoniasis is caused by the protozoan parasite trichomonas vaginalis and is spread by sexual contact. it is the most common curable sexually transmitted infection and is often symptomless, though it can cause inflammation in the genital area, leading to symptoms such as itching, burning, and a foul-smelling discharge. it is usually treated with antibiotics.
