What happens during the disease - other forms of cryptococcosis

Other forms of cryptococcosis are caused by the inhalation of the cryptococcus neoformans fungus, which is found in soil and bird droppings. this fungus can then spread to the lungs, where it can cause inflammation and pneumonia. in some cases, the fungus can also spread to other organs, such as the brain, where it can cause meningitis and other serious complications. treatment usually involves antifungal medications and other supportive care.

Other forms of cryptococcosis - Prevention

Cryptococcosis can be prevented by avoiding contact with soil, bird droppings, and other sources of the fungus, as well as avoiding activities that could result in inhalation of the fungus, such as cleaning bird cages. additionally, people with weakened immune systems should be monitored closely and given antifungal medication as a preventative measure.
