Lymphoid leukaemia - what does this mean

Lymphoid leukaemia is a type of cancer in which the bone marrow produces an excessive number of abnormal lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. these abnormal cells are unable to perform their normal functions, leading to overcrowding in the bone marrow, which can eventually cause other complications.

What happens during the disease - lymphoid leukaemia

Lymphoid leukaemia is a type of cancer that affects the cells of the immune system. it is caused by a genetic mutation in the dna of the lymphocytes, which are the white blood cells that fight against infection. this mutation causes the cells to divide and grow abnormally, resulting in an overproduction of white blood cells. these abnormal cells can accumulate in the lymph nodes, spleen, and bone marrow, crowding out healthy cells and impairing the body’s ability to fight infection.
