Clonorchiasis is caused by an infection of the small intestine with the parasitic worm clonorchis sinensis, which is usually contracted through the ingestion of raw or undercooked fish. the worms attach to the intestinal wall and produce eggs, which are then passed in the stool. ingestion of these eggs by another person can lead to infection.
