Crepitus

Crepitus is a symptom of a medical condition in which there is a crackling sensation or sound when the affected area is moved. It is most commonly experienced in the joints and chest, and is caused by air or fluid trapped in the tissue. It can range from a mild to a severe sensation, and can be accompanied by pain, swelling, and stiffness. It can develop gradually over time or suddenly after an injury.
