Xanthelasma is a yellowish patch of fat deposits that appear on the inner corners of the upper and lower eyelids. It is usually painless, but can become itchy or tender. The patches may start off small but can grow in size over time. They are often symmetrical, and may be accompanied by other signs of high cholesterol, such as raised cholesterol levels in the blood.
