Urolithiasis is a condition in which small stones form in the urinary tract, including the kidneys, bladder, and ureters. The stones can be composed of minerals, such as calcium oxalate or uric acid, or of organic material, such as protein. Symptoms of urolithiasis include pain in the lower abdomen, pain or burning sensation during urination, cloudy or bloody urine, and difficulty urinating. The stones can cause blockage in the urinary tract, leading to pain and infection. Treatment options may include medications, diet changes, and surgery.
