Symptoms may include repeating sounds, words, or phrases; prolonging sounds; and struggling to produce certain sounds. Speech disorders can range from mild to severe and can develop at any age. They can be caused by physical impairments, such as cleft palate, or neurological conditions, such as stroke, or can have no known cause.
