Obturation is a symptom of airway obstruction caused by a partial or complete blockage of the airway. It can manifest as a feeling of tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, wheezing, and/or coughing. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including asthma, allergies, foreign objects, and tumors. The development of obturation is gradual, with the obstruction increasing until it is complete. Depending on the cause, treatment may involve medications, lifestyle changes, or surgery.
