Absence of brain tissue

Absence of brain tissue is a condition in which a portion of the brain is missing due to a congenital defect or traumatic injury. Commonly, this defect is observed at birth and may be accompanied by physical deformities or cognitive impairments. Over time, the absence of brain tissue can lead to a decline in intellectual and motor functioning, as well as changes in behavior and personality. The severity of the condition will depend on the size and location of the missing tissue. In some cases, the brain may compensate for the defect and the individual may have a normal life.
