Yaws - what does this mean

Yaws is a tropical bacterial infection caused by treponema pallidum, which is related to the bacteria that cause syphilis. it is transmitted through direct contact with the skin of an infected person, usually through broken skin or through contact with contaminated objects. it can also be transmitted through contact with contaminated soil. the bacteria can cause skin lesions, bone and joint pain, and disfigurement.
