What happens during the disease - other myelodysplastic syndromes

Other myelodysplastic syndromes (mds) are a group of hematological disorders that are characterized by an abnormality in the formation of the bone marrow cells. the exact cause of mds is unknown, however, it is believed to be due to genetic mutations that cause the bone marrow to produce an insufficient number of healthy blood cells. the mutations can be acquired or inherited and can lead to a decrease in the production of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. this can cause anemia, infections, and an increased risk of bleeding.
