Chronic pharyngitis - what does this mean

Chronic pharyngitis is an inflammation of the pharynx that persists for more than three months and is usually caused by a bacterial or viral infection, allergies, or irritants such as smoke or pollutants. it can also be caused by acid reflux or overuse of the voice. symptoms may include sore throat, difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, and a feeling of something stuck in the throat.

What happens during the disease - chronic pharyngitis

Chronic pharyngitis is caused by a combination of factors, including bacterial, viral, and fungal infections; environmental irritants; and underlying medical conditions such as allergies, sinusitis, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd). the irritation of the throat tissue can lead to inflammation, which can cause swelling, redness, and pain. this can result in a persistent sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and hoarseness. in some cases, chronic pharyngitis can also cause chronic cough and postnasal drip.
