Other emphysema - what does this mean

Other emphysema is a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd) caused by the destruction of the alveoli, the tiny air sacs in the lungs. this destruction leads to the formation of larger air spaces, which in turn decrease the amount of oxygen that can be exchanged between the lungs and the bloodstream. this can lead to difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and coughing.

What happens during the disease - other emphysema

Other emphysema is a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd) that is caused by a variety of environmental and genetic factors. it is characterized by an abnormal enlargement of the airspaces in the lungs due to destruction of the alveolar walls. this destruction is caused by repeated exposure to irritants such as cigarette smoke, air pollution, and occupational dust or chemicals. this leads to a decrease in the lung’s ability to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide, resulting in shortness of breath, wheezing, and other respiratory symptoms.
