Duodenitis - what does this mean

Duodenitis is an inflammation of the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. it is usually caused by an infection, irritation, or injury to the lining of the duodenum. common symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and weight loss. treatment usually involves antibiotics and lifestyle changes to reduce inflammation.

What happens during the disease - duodenitis

Механизм развития воспаления ДПК связан с повреждением слизистой стенки кишки поступающим из желудка гиперацидным соком. Повышенная кислотность в совокупности со снижением защитных свойств стенки кишки приводят к раздражению, а затем и воспалению слизистой. Если острое воспаление протекает без ярко выраженной симптоматики, то оно перерастает в хронический процесс, приобретает циклическое рецидивирующее течение, в стенке кишки начинаются дегенеративные и атрофические процессы.

 

В случае вторичного дуоденита основным патогенетическим звеном развития заболевания является дуоденостаз – следствие функциональных расстройств пищеварения, недостаточная перистальтика, спаечные процессы, компрессионная непроходимость ДПК. Хронические заболевания печени, желчного пузыря и поджелудочной железы вызывают нарушения ферментного баланса, что провоцирует изменение гомеостаза внутренней среды кишечника, снижает защитные свойства эпителия слизистой, становится основой хронического воспаления.
