Hiccup

Hiccups are sudden, involuntary contractions of the diaphragm muscle. They are usually accompanied by a sudden closure of the vocal cords, resulting in the characteristic sound of a hiccup. Hiccups can occur randomly or in bouts lasting several minutes or hours. They can be triggered by a variety of factors, including eating or drinking too quickly, sudden excitement, or exposure to extreme temperatures.
