Cutaneous abscess, furuncle and carbuncle of other sites are caused by a bacterial infection. the bacteria enter the skin through a break or cut in the skin, and cause an infection in the deeper layers of the skin. this infection results in an accumulation of pus, which forms an abscess. a furuncle is an abscess with a single center of infection, while a carbuncle is an abscess with multiple centers of infection.

Cutaneous abscess, furuncle and carbuncle of other sites are caused by bacterial infection of the skin. the bacteria can enter the skin through a crack or cut in the skin, or through an insect bite or other wound. once the bacteria are in the skin, they multiply and cause inflammation, leading to the formation of pus and an abscess. in some cases, the infection can spread to the deeper tissue, leading to a carbuncle or furuncle.
