What happens during the disease - maltreatment syndromes

Maltreatment syndromes are caused by a combination of physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse or neglect. the long-term effects of maltreatment can lead to a number of psychological and physical health problems, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. physical effects can include chronic pain, gastrointestinal issues, and impaired immune function. maltreatment can also lead to social problems such as difficulty forming and maintaining relationships, poor academic performance, and difficulty finding and keeping employment.
