Abscess

If you experience any symptoms, please consult a doctor (Boil, Cyst, Pustule, Blister, Sore, Ulcer, Tumor, Lump, Swelling, Nodule)

An abscess is a localized collection of pus caused by infection. It usually presents as a swollen, tender, and red area on the skin with a white or yellow center. It can also appear internally, such as in the lungs, throat, or abdomen. It develops when bacteria or other microorganisms enter the body and the body’s immune system is unable to remove them. It may cause fever, chills, and other symptoms depending on the location. Treatment typically involves antibiotics and draining the abscess.
