A sore throat

A sore throat is an inflammation of the throat caused by a virus or bacteria. It usually starts as a scratchy feeling in the throat that progresses to a burning sensation. It is often accompanied by swollen lymph nodes, fever, a runny nose, and a cough. Symptoms can range from mild discomfort to severe pain that makes swallowing difficult.
