Internal hirudiniasis - what does this mean

Internal hirudiniasis is a parasitic infection caused by the leech hirudo medicinalis, which can enter the body through the nose, mouth or any other body opening. the parasite can migrate through the body, attaching itself to the mucous membranes and causing inflammation, bleeding, and tissue damage. symptoms of internal hirudiniasis include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and anemia.

What happens during the disease - internal hirudiniasis

Выделяя гирудин, являющийся сильным антикоагулянтом, а также гистаминоподобное вещество, расширяющее капилляры, пиявки вызывают кровотечение в месте присасывания. Возможны развитие анемии, головные боли и другие симптомы в зависимости от локализации паразита. Наиболее опасно присасывание пиявки к голосовым складкам или к стенке трахеи, т.к. это может привести к асфиксии.

 

Другой фактор патогенеза - механические повреждения, связанные с движением пиявки и травмированием ею нежных тканей. Последний фактор обычно проявляет себя при внутреннем гирудинозе, когда пребывание червя в полостях тела, протоках и внутренних органах может вызвать закупорку ходов, раздражение, спазматические явления и т. д.

 

Данные патологические процессы отягчают протекание гирудиноза. Наиболее тяжело гирудиноз протекает у лиц, предрасположенных или страдающих нарушениями механизма свертываемости крови.
