Tricuspid stenosis - what does this mean

Tricuspid stenosis is a condition in which the tricuspid valve between the right atrium and right ventricle of the heart becomes narrowed, restricting blood flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle. this narrowing is usually caused by a build-up of calcium deposits on the valve leaflets or by a thickening of the valve leaflets due to rheumatic heart disease or other conditions.

What happens during the disease - tricuspid stenosis

Стеноз правого предсердно-желудочкового отверстия вызывает затруднение физиологического поступления крови из правого предсердия в правый желудочек. При этом в диастолу создается повышенный транстрикуспидальный градиент давления, обусловленный увеличением давления в полости правого предсердия. В течение короткого времени компенсация нарушенной гемодинамики обеспечивается гиперфункцией и гипертрофией правого предсердия. Однако компенсаторные механизмы при трикуспидальном стенозе неустойчивы и ограничены, поскольку мощность миокарда правого предсердия оказывается недостаточной.

 

Прогрессирующий рост давления в правом предсердии приводит к застою во всей венозной системе. В портальной системе и печени депонируется большое количество крови, поэтому рост портальной гипертензии способствует развитию асцита, фиброза и цирроза печени.
